According to data released by international payments company OFX, the majority of small British businesses are increasingly optimistic about international trade. The majority expect to increase or start overseas sales over the next 12 months.
The survey of 500 small business owners across the UK found that 62% feel confident about trading outside the UK and 46% said that the uncertainty surrounding the Brexit negotiations had no impact on their appetite for international trade.
The majority of respondents felt that there is not enough financial support to SME’s who are trading overseas.
“The rise of marketplaces like eBay and Amazon means it’s now easier than ever for small businesses to start selling overseas, no matter where they are based.” says OFX’s Jake Trask.
